I feel like I am at that age, not a girl but not yet a woman. I feel too old to be chilling with my mates on the streets but where else do we go to catch up? My house is a bit of a mad house and I don’t have my own room so it’s difficult t have friends at mine and my friends feel the same about their homes. A couple of our friends have started drinking in […]
Happy New Year All! I cannot believe it is 2016 already… where has the time gone? Here are 3 things I learnt in 2015: 1. Power posing – if you haven’t tried it – DO! So I had a job interview which I was really nervous about. I wanted to make sure I was ready and well prepared for it so I did some google research and found a Ted Talks video about how 2 minute power poses can raise […]
So last time I wrote my Awkward Moment Blog I was just off for a catch up with my friend Louisa. I came away from our catch up feeling a bit worried. Louisa seemed really down and upset. Her mum and dad have been arguing for a while and not really telling her whats going on so I can understand I guess. What’s worrying me is she seems to be accepting anyone as a friend on Facebook, sending random people […]
Hey all! I’m still volunteering and going well – they’ve even offered me a Saturday job helping with the entertainment at the old folks home when I turn 16. It’s so rewarding! I did have an awkward moment the other day though… This really nice woman who has alzheimer’s kept telling me she wanted a cuppa tea then when I gave her one she told me she never asked for a tea. This happened about 10 times!! Haha So apart from […]
Happy 2015 everyone!! Sorry I haven’t blogged for a little while. Volunteering over the Christmas period really made me think about my life. It was so rewarding that actually I’ve decided to continue with it and go see the old folks every weekend – they love it! Anyone else had any new years resolutions and manage to keep them so far??
Christmas was so much fun! My nan and all her friends really enjoyed us going to visit on Christmas day. We played some board games, sang some songs and just chilled with all the old people it was great. New Years eve wasn’t so fun. Me and Eva went to a party but it got a bit out of hand and the police ended up being called – what a way to start the new year! Anyway we didn’t get […]
So it’s nearly CHRISTMAS! I’m deffo feeling the Christmas spirit this year. I’ve signed up to volunteer at my local old people’s home. Some of the people in there don’t have any family and get lonely so I’ve decided to go along in the afternoon to play some games and sing some songs with them. My friends coming too. I think we will have a great time. Anyone else doing any good deeds over the holidays? www.do-it.org.uk has some great ideas […]
OMG exams and course work is so stressful!!! Teachers are mentioning it everyday, all my friends are talking about it and when I go home all I hear from my mum ”Why aren’t you revising?” or ”Why aren’t you doing your course work?”. I need a break! I had no idea how much pressure we would be under. I suppose it’s good though, at least all the nagging makes sure I’m always thinking about it. Does anyone know any good […]
So I ended up speaking with my mum about Ella not eating because I was so worried, it was a bit awkward, but, actually my mum helped. She told me to get Ella to speak to the school nurse. Ella didn’t want to at first but when she realised how worried about her I was she agreed if we went together. The nurse was really nice, she didn’t judge Ella. Ella has been referred to a specialist for extra support […]
During lunch at school today, I noticed Ella wasn’t eating again. That’s the third time this week. She claimed to have forgotten her lunch on Monday, said she wasn’t hungry on Tuesday because she had a big breakfast and now, today, she says she’s not feeling well so doesn’t have an appetite. I mean, she could be telling the truth, but she changed her profile picture at the weekend and some people wrote some really horrible stuff about her. I […]
