Welcome to the homepage of the ADYP website! We are here to support young people aged 10-25 with a variety of tools as we recognise that one size doesn’t fit all. We are proud to announce that we are one of the Mayor of Abingdon’s adopted charities for the year 2021 and have previously won the High Sheriff\u2019s award for Community Integration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our vision and mission is simple, we empower and give opportunities to young people to be the drivers behind positive change: To increases their life chances through development of skills which improve their wellbeing and life chances to transform their community through positive engagement that promotes a shared sense of belonging<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Abingdon Damascus Youth Project (a voluntary and registered charity) prides itself on enabling young people to make a positive difference within their own communities. Our team is made up of enthusiastic, qualified youth workers who have a passion for seeing change in young people\u2019s lives<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I have been a part of the ADYP team for just over 2 years now and have previously been a beneficiary of the project for the last 8 years. I’m currently at college studying Media and work part-time as a Trainee Youth Worker . I have done a lot of work in Sutton Courtenay and was the main young person that came up with the idea of Doorstep bingo throughout COVID<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I joined the ADYP team almost a year ago as a volunteer helping out the project with events to start, and have worked my way up to now, being on my 4th month of employment. Before becoming a volunteer, I was a young person for the project for 8 years, in Drayton and Steventon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
